WEEK FOUR | CHRISTMAS EVE | 1 PETER 2:9, PSALM 100
There is much to celebrate as we remember the birth of Jesus. Whether in quiet moments of reflection or lively moments of singing, dancing and loud noise, it is a time of rejoicing and a time to “tell the people around us.” This song, originally written in Hindi, expresses the exuberance of the South Asian Church wherever it may be found. May it inspire you to worship this Christmas Eve and to Go + Tell.
खुशियाँ मनाएँ और जश्न मनाएँ
REJOICE, MAKE A JOYFUL CELEBRATION,
REMEMBERING THE BIRTH OF JESUS.
MAKE LOUD NOISES, SING, DANCE,
FOR BORN TO US IS THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD!
IT’S A WONDERFUL AND SACRED DAY,
FOR CREATOR HIMSELF TOOK HUMAN FORM.
IT’S A MARVELOUS AND EXCELLENT DAY, TOO;
MAN CAN NOW MAKE PEACE WITH GOD.
CHRISTMAS IS PROVIDENTIAL AND FAVOURABLE;
CHRISTMAS IS BLESSED, HALLELUJAH!
REJOICE AND RAISE YOUR VOICES;
DANCE, SING AND MAKE LOUD NOISES;
LET US TELL THE PEOPLE AROUND US
THE KING WHO SAVES HAS ARRIVED!*
Many South Asian Christ-followers are involved in ministry in other cultures and language communities within their own nations. This year, Frontier Fellowship partner Eastern Wind has been translating scripture stories in the primary language of multiple least-reached people groups in their region—a vital resource for church planters sharing the joyful news of the Savior. As you prepare for Christmas, what gifts—be it prayers, time, resources or expertise—will you share with others? “Let us tell the people around us, the King who saves has arrived!”
