WEEK THREE | DAY SEVEN | ISAIAH 9:2
“Tonight darkness fell into the dawn of love’s light.” This beautiful word picture captures the heart of Christmas, of redemption. Light and Life. Light overcoming darkness. God’s love is so powerful that in the midst of distress, uncertainty or challenge, we can still have hope and trust that all will be well.
Mark’s wife had become a Christian and was regularly attending worship services near their village in Sudan. Wanting to ensure her safety as she traveled to and from the large outdoor gatherings, Mark began going with her, but would stand off at a distance and watch. At one service, someone shared the Jesus Film. Mark was captivated by the story of Jesus. Returning home, he rejected his former militant pursuits and began a new life in Christ.
Soon, Mark began visiting villages to tell others about Jesus. He met a church planter one day who connected him with Frontier Fellowship’s partners in the region. They arranged for Mark to attend a Bible school. Equipped with a computer and solar-powered battery, and passionate about sharing the Good News, he now rides his bike to different villages and shows the Jesus Film.
Pray for Mark’s ministry, and ask God to show you how to help point others to the Light that has overcome the darkness. Give thanks that the Light of God’s love has dawned through Jesus, Immanuel.
