“And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.” —Genesis 22:18 (NLT)
The prefix ‘un’ on a word signifies something is missing or lacking. If someone is unable to do something, they lack the ability to complete that task. The word unreached is no different. Of the nearly 8 billion people alive today, more than two billion have never heard of Jesus. They are unreached with the Gospel.
Historian Andrew Walls once pointed out that every culture that receives Christ contributes to the ever-growing “comprehensive” picture by which all peoples are learning to see Jesus. Meeting followers of Jesus from other cultures gives us a glimpse of the expanding mosaic of God’s Kingdom. Reaching unreached peoples not only gives people access to the Gospel; it enables Christ followers worldwide to learn and grow in faith from the perspective and insight of other peoples.
These realities compel Frontier Fellowship to engage the world’s unreached people groups, supporting efforts to establish local churches that can proclaim the Good News of God’s Kingdom to their communities and beyond.
In this final week of Advent, join us in praying that unreached peoples—around the corner and across the world—will encounter the grace of God and become thriving expressions of the Body of Christ in their unique contexts.
