In ancient times, the morning star (which we now know as the planet Venus) was considered the messenger of the coming dawn. Its appearance in the night sky carried the promise of approaching light that would dispel the darkness and illuminate the day anew.
A star once announced another kind of light coming into the world. Matthew 2 tells of the Magi, wise men who saw a radiant celestial sign that drew them to find and worship the newborn King in Bethlehem. And in Revelation 22:16, Jesus calls Himself the “bright Morning Star,” the one who initiated the ultimate dawn of salvation and promises to bring an end to every form of darkness.
Around the world, our partners are reflecting His light as they work for the physical and spiritual renewal of communities with little or no access to the Gospel. Through gifts like school desks and scholarships, livestock, leadership development, print and audio Bibles, job training and refugee care, this gift catalog offers opportunities to welcome our global neighbors into the grace that transforms our present and gives us hope for the future.
